Dr. Shambhu Prasad Chakrabarty

Dr. Shambhu Prasad Chakrabarty received his undergraduate degree from Town School Calcutta with Commerce and his graduate degree in Law (LL.B.) from Surendranath Law College, Kolkata and Masters from Calcutta University. Later he completed his Ph.D. (in Law on Tribal Rights in India with special reference of Tribals in West Bengal) in June 2017 from the University of North Bengal. Between 2003-2006 he served as a law trainee to Advocate Asim Chatterjee of the High Court at Calcutta. Since 2006 after his post graduation from Hazra Campus, University of Calcutta he joined as a part time professor of law at Jogesh Chandra Choudhury Law College, Kolkata (Affiliated to Calcutta University). He also served as a guest lecturer on Cyber Crimes at Surendranath Law College, his alma mater during 2008-09. He joined KIIT, Bhubaneswar at Orissa as Assistant Professor of Law and later rejoined Jogesh Chandra Choudhury Law College as Contractual Whole Time Teacher till he joined Amity Law School Kolkata in 2016 where he is currently the Assistant Professor Grade II.
His academic honours include topping the undergraduate degree and winning the first prize in Mock Parliament Competition conducted by the Government of West Bengal in 1997. Later during his graduate degree he topped his College and was also the University topper in his 4th year.
He also did his Post Graduate Certificate Course on Cyber Laws from IGNOU in collaboration with WBNUJS (study centre). He is also a Diploma holder on Journalism which he did in the year 2000 while pursuing his graduation studies.
